The complete collection of the New York Times bestselling trilogy from Stephen King and Richard Chizmar!

In Gwendy's Button Box, twelve-year-old Gwendy Peterson's life is forever changed when she is given a mysterious wooden box by a stranger for safekeeping。 It offers enticing treats and vintage coins, but he warns her that if she presses any of the box's beautifully colored buttons, death and destruction will follow。

Years later, in Gwendy's Magic Feather, she's a successful novelist with a promising future in politics。 But when the button box suddenly reappears in her life, she must decide if she is willing to risk everything for its temptations。

And in the thrilling conclusion Gwendy's Final Task, evil forces seek to possess the button box and it is up to Senator Gwendy Peterson to keep it from them at all costs。 But where can one hide something so destructive from such powerful entities?

Not bad reading。 I recomend all three books。

I listened to the audio version of the trilogy。 As Stephen King stories go,this is as well-written as most and mildly weird。 The addition of a second author has tempered and simplified the writing style as well as the plot。 It is still tightly crafted and fast-paced。 I found it to be a very entertaining listen。

Truly makes you think "what would I do" in Gwendy's place? Truly makes you think "what would I do" in Gwendy's place? 。。。more

Gwendy's Button Box - This short book (novella?) was delightful。 I was a little apprehensive as it was co-written by another author, and I was worried that it wouldn't have the same feel as a Stephen King book。 While it didn't quite read the same, it was still very enjoyable。 The only thing I didn't like was that it was too short。 I'd like to have had more story and narrative on Gwendy's life。Gwendy's Magic Feather - And I guess I got my wish。 When I first heard this was coming out, a sequel to Gwendy's Button Box - This short book (novella?) was delightful。 I was a little apprehensive as it was co-written by another author, and I was worried that it wouldn't have the same feel as a Stephen King book。 While it didn't quite read the same, it was still very enjoyable。 The only thing I didn't like was that it was too short。 I'd like to have had more story and narrative on Gwendy's life。Gwendy's Magic Feather - And I guess I got my wish。 When I first heard this was coming out, a sequel to Gwendy’s Button Box, I was thrilled and then disappointed。 I’d enjoyed that book quite a lot。 And, being the Constant Reader that I am, I was certainly excited。 Then I found out Stephen King was not co-writing it with Richard Chizmar。 Oh well, I thought, it’ll save me some money。 And I let it pass by。 Then I heard about a third book in the series coming out, Gwendy’s Final Task and that Uncle Stevie would be retuning as co-author。 Now I HAD to read Magic Feather。 And I’m glad I did。 This was a wonderful story。 Beautifully written and there were times I found myself having to remind myself that King hadn’t co-authored it。 Perhaps not quite as good as the first one, but still wonderfully delicious (like those delight little chocolates perhaps)。 I can hardly wait to start on book three (but I have another bookclub selection to read first)。Gwendy's Final Task - Perhaps not quite as good as the other two volumes in this series, Gwendy's Button Box and Gwendy's Magic Feather, but a genuinely good book and thrilling read。 And best of all? A very satisfying ending。 。。。more

The second book, Gwendy's Magic Feather, was the least enjoyable of all 3, but still a good book。 The third book might have been the strongest。 I really enjoyed this series。 The second book, Gwendy's Magic Feather, was the least enjoyable of all 3, but still a good book。 The third book might have been the strongest。 I really enjoyed this series。 。。。more

When I was reading the first two parts, I kept thinking about Chekhov's gun, when is it going to fire, when at last ? Well, it doesn't。 The story doesn't makes much sense。。。 not until you reach the final book。 The gun finally fires there and the story even gets a very surprising and cool twist (if you are King's fan and is well acquainted with his universe)。 Nevertheless, the book wasn't planned as a trilogy (that is what King confesses in the preface to the second book) and the final part looks When I was reading the first two parts, I kept thinking about Chekhov's gun, when is it going to fire, when at last ?
